Meet the Senedd (2025 - 2026)
Task 1 - Creating a Code of Conduct for our meetings
🌟 What a Fantastic Start to the Year! 🌟
Our amazing School Senedd has been buzzing with excitement this half term, all thanks to their brilliant idea — our first ever Diversity Day!
So, how did it all begin? Every Friday, our Senedd meets with our headteacher, Mrs Burns, to chat about ways we can make our wonderful school even better. In our very first meeting of the year, we explored ideas for celebrating our school community, planning fundraising events, and making a real difference. And guess what? The ideas came flooding in!
🎉 Diversity Day was born! 🎉
We always celebrate Black History Month, but this year we wanted to go even further — to celebrate everyone’s stories. So, we wrote a letter to our families, inviting them to come in and share what diversity means to them. We asked them to talk about their cultures, religions, and beliefs — and they said YES!
And that’s not all… we reached out to Lee Trundle, former Swansea City footballer, and he said he’d love to visit our school! We were thrilled! We got to work writing questions for him about diversity and inclusion in football, ready for a special assembly.
📅 Diversity Day took place on 24.10.2025, and it was a huge success!
Here’s a glimpse of what happened:
- One parent read us a selection of inspiring diversity-themed books 📚
- Another visited classrooms to teach us all about Diwali 🪔
- We also learned about Palestinian culture from a parent who shared their story 🌍
- And of course, Lee Trundle delivered two amazing assemblies that had us all inspired ⚽
Pupils came dressed in outfits that celebrated their unique style — it was a colourful, joyful day full of learning and laughter. Best of all, we raised over £260, which we’re putting towards a diversity mural for our school!
🎨 Next step: researching artists to help us bring our mural to life!

And after half term… who knows what our Senedd will dream up next?

Sennedd Community Party - Once again, our School Senedd is bringing the community together with a festive Christmas party! The pupils have been busy writing letters and creating posters to share the news with everyone locally. We know that Christmas can sometimes feel lonely, so the Senedd is passionate about creating opportunities for people to connect and celebrate together. Take a moment to look at our poster—and why not pop in for a cuppa and a mince pie? We’d love to see you there!

Caffi Pawb – Our Community Café Project
So what have School Senedd been working on Spring Term 2026?
Caffi Pawb is our school community café project, created to bring pupils, families and the local community together. The café was developed from the very beginning with pupil voice at its heart. Pupils across the school took part in choosing the name, designing the logo and deciding on the menu and pricing through assemblies, discussions and voting activities.
Throughout the project, pupils built valuable real‑life skills including communication, teamwork, handling money, reading, writing and problem‑solving. They took on a range of roles and responsibilities, learning the importance of being kind, polite and welcoming while working together towards a shared goal.
The project also involved market research, data collection and analysis using Microsoft Forms, helping pupils understand how decisions are made in real businesses. Families, staff and governors were actively involved by sharing ideas and voting on menu items and prices, ensuring Caffi Pawb truly reflects our whole school community.
Caffi Pawb is more than a café – it is a proud example of learning beyond the classroom, community partnership and pupil leadership. We love welcoming our families and community into school and showcasing all that our pupils can achieve.
