Caffi Pawb – Opening Soon at PPS!

At PPS, our School Senedd has been working incredibly hard alongside Mrs. Kelleher to create a brand‑new community café right here in school. We are proud to introduce Caffi Pawb – a space designed to bring our whole school community together.

Every class will have the opportunity to work in the café, helping pupils develop a range of valuable, lifelong skills such as:

• Teamwork – working together to run the café smoothly and support one another.
• Communication – greeting customers, taking orders, and speaking with confidence.
• Numeracy skills – handling money, counting change, and managing orders.
• Problem‑solving – thinking on their feet and overcoming small challenges during service.
• Responsibility and independence – taking ownership of tasks and building real‑world confidence.

These skills help pupils grow as independent learners and prepare them for future roles in school, the workplace, and the wider community.

We are excited to announce that our official ‘Caffi Pawb Launch’ will take place on 26th March 2026, hosted proudly by our School Senedd. After the launch, each class will take turns running the café on a fortnightly basis.

We can’t wait to welcome parents, carers, and members of our community into PPS — bringing everyone together, one cup at a time!

Our School Senedd pupils have been incredibly busy reviewing the wonderful work produced by pupils across the school for our Community Café project. Every class was challenged to design a logo and come up with a name for the café, and the effort, creativity and imagination shown by all pupils were truly impressive. The Senedd had the difficult task of choosing one overall winner —no small job, as the artwork, ideas and names were all fantastic! After much discussion and careful consideration, they finally selected the design below as the winner of the competition. Congratulations! We are very excited to see your ideas come to life as our Community Café project continues to grow.

Caffi Pawb – Our Community Café Project

Our Spring Time Launch 2026

Caffi Pawb is our school community café project, created to bring pupils, families and the local community together. The café was developed from the very beginning with pupil voice at its heart. Pupils across the school took part in choosing the name, designing the logo and deciding on the menu and pricing through assemblies, discussions and voting activities.

Throughout the project, pupils built valuable real‑life skills including communication, teamwork, handling money, reading, writing and problem‑solving. They took on a range of roles and responsibilities, learning the importance of being kind, polite and welcoming while working together towards a shared goal.

The project also involved market research, data collection and analysis using Microsoft Forms, helping pupils understand how decisions are made in real businesses. Families, staff and governors were actively involved by sharing ideas and voting on menu items and prices, ensuring Caffi Pawb truly reflects our whole school community.

Caffi Pawb is more than a café – it is a proud example of learning beyond the classroom, community partnership and pupil leadership. We love welcoming our families and community into school and showcasing all that our pupils can achieve.
