Our amazing and growing ‘Penllergaer’ Playgroup provides an opportunity for parents to bring their babies and pre-school children for an hour and a half of socialising and activities. Penllergaer Playgroup is run by the lovely Miss Della Porta.

The playgroup is run on Thursdays from 9.00am to 10.30am/10.35am. If you are able to help, even if only for a short time, please contact the school office and leave your name and a telephone number.

Activities will include songs, stories, games, and exploration of different toys, in an environment rich in language, texture, colour and sound. All of these activities will help children with their sound and language development, gross and fine motor skill development, counting and shape recognition, pre-reading skills where appropriate, and socialising skills. Above all, the children will feel welcomed into the Penllergaer community, will feel loved, and will have fun!

The benefits of attending a playgroup are far reaching. Not only does it support the child in developing language and social skills, building their emotional confidence, encourages physical activity, stimulates their imagination and creativity but parents and caregivers get a chance to socialise and learn parenting skills from each other as well as feeling part of a community.
